Now, the fact of the matter is that desserts, in general, are not healthy. Of course, it is OK to sometimes eat foods that are unhealthy. That said, there are also some healthy desserts out there, and yes, you can make them in your air fryer.
Something that we do want to make clear here is that some of these desserts may not be overly healthy. However, we do want to talk about some ways to make classic desserts in healthier ways than they are usually made.
In other words, we’re going to be talking about making desserts that feature healthy alternative ingredients as opposed to the usual unhealthy ingredients.

Here we have a baked apple that is filled with various tasty ingredients such as nutmeg, cinnamon, some butter, nuts, and raisins. This recipe doesn’t have the least sugar of all desserts, although it’s not too bad either. There is also the fact that the walnuts and other ingredients have some nutritional benefits too.
It’s also an extremely simple recipe to make. All you need are some apples, walnuts, raisins, butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, water, and some agave nectar. Keep in mind that you can use natural sweetener instead of sugar.
To make this recipe, you just have to cut the apple in half and then spoon out some of the interior. You then need to combine the cinnamon, butter, walnuts, nutmeg, and raisins. You then just need to spoon this mixture into the center of the apples. Then, using your air fryer, bake for around 20 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

The nice thing about this particular recipe is that you don’t really have to do very much at all. You simply have to slice your bananas into very thin slices, put them in the air fryer, and let them go at 350 for about 8 to 10 minutes.
The other cool thing here is that you can then top your banana chips any way you see fit. If you want, you can simply eat them as is. However, the world is your oyster here, and you can drizzle them with anything you see fit.
3. A Health(ier) Cheesecake
OK, so cheesecake in itself is not going to be overly healthy. However, there are ways to make it healthier than it otherwise is. For instance, you can use a natural sweetener instead of sugar, dairy-free cream cheese, and an egg replacer. This will help cut down on sugar, fat, and carbs.
For this recipe, you are going to need the baking pan that came with your air fryer. What is also convenient is that cheesecake is fairly easy to make, and this is no more so true than for this one. This is a very simple recipe that takes under an hour are to complete.
To make this recipe, you are going to 3/4 cups of Graham cracker crumbs, 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter, and a tablespoon of sugar. This is to make the crust. You’re going to mix all of these ingredients together, and then press them into the bottom of your air fryer baking pan. This will form the crust. You then just have to bake it for 4 minutes at 350 degrees.
Once this is done, you are going to make 16 ounces of cream cheese, a cup of sweetened condensed milk, some vanilla extract, a large egg, and some lemon zest. Once it is done, place it in the fridge for around 3 hours.
4. Banana Bread
Although it is something that many people don’t consider, it is possible to make banana bread in the air fryer. Once again, bananas themselves do have many different nutrients. Bananas are some extremely healthy fruits.
Now, there are some ways to help cut back on the fat and sugar that banana bread usually contains. Here you are going to be using whole wheat flour, limited amounts of sugar, and nonfat yogurt.
To make this recipe, you are going to need 3/4 cups of whole wheat flour, a teaspoon of cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon of kosher salt, 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda, two medium ripe bananas, two large eggs, 1/2 cup of sugar, 1/3 cup of plain nonfat yogurt, 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and some toasted walnuts.
First, mix together your flour, salt, cinnamon, and baking soda. Then, in a separate bowl, whisk together your eggs, mashed bananas, yogurt, oil, vanilla, and sugar.
You are then going to slowly mix the dry and the wet ingredients together. Now, heat up your air fryer to 310 degrees, and place the mixture into the air fryer in the baking pan, for between 30 to 35 minutes.
5. Chocolate Zucchini Bread
Instead of making just a chocolate cake, some chocolate zucchini bread is always a good option. Here, you’re adding a whole lot of nutritional value to the mix by using zucchini. Moreover, using zucchini also helps cut down on the other unhealthier ingredients. If you want to make it even healthier, you can substitute with dairy-free butter, egg replacer, and gluten-free flour too.
Of course, it does still contain a bit of sugar and fat, but not nearly as much as a normal chocolate cake or chocolate bread would. What is interesting is that zucchini also adds a certain amount of moisture to the mix.
To make this recipe, you need 1/2 cup of whole wheat flour, 1/4 cup of cocoa powder,1/2 teaspoon of baking soda, 1/3 teaspoon of salt, one egg, 6 tablespoons brown sugar, 2 tablespoons butter, 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 3/4 cup shredded zucchini, and 1/4 cup semisweet or bittersweet chocolate chips.
Here, all you need to do is to first mix the wet ingredients together. You’re then going to add all of the dry ingredients to the mix, then your grated zucchini, and the chocolate chips. Pour the whole thing in a cake pan, and put it in the air fryer at 310 degrees for 35 minutes.
After 35 minutes, poke a toothpick into it, and if the toothpick comes out clean, your zucchini chocolate bread is done.
6. Air Fried Vegan Beignets
Beignets are extremely delicious desserts no doubt. With that being said, they’re generally not healthy. However, here we have found a way to make them much healthier.
This is not only due to the fact that they are made in the air fryer, but also because some of the unhealthier ingredients have been substituted with much healthier ingredients. If you like pastry, and you want it to be healthy and vegan, then this is a great way to go.
For this recipe, you are going to need a cup of whole earth sweetener baking blend, as well as a teaspoon of organic cornstarch. You are then also going to need a cup of full-fat coconut milk, 3 tablespoons of a powdered baking blend, and 1.5 teaspoons of active baking yeast.
For the dough, you are then going to need two tablespoons of coconut oil, 2 tablespoons of drained water from chickpeas, 2 tablespoons vanilla, and three cups of unbleached white flour. Yes, there are quite a few ingredients, although the recipe itself is quite easy to make.
To make this recipe, you’re going to mix the whole earth baking blend with the cornstarch. Set this aside. You will then want to warm up your coconut milk, and add into a bowl along with the sugar and the yeast. Let this sit for about 10 minutes until the yeast foams.
You’re now going to mix the coconut oil with the chickpea water, and the vanilla, along with the yeast mixture. You’re then going to combine all of this with the flour, adding one cup at a time.
Once the dough starts to form, knead it very well for about 3 minutes. You now want to put the dough in a large bowl and cover it with a dish towel so it can rise for about one hour. Once the dough is finished, spread it out onto a surface and roll it out to about 1/3 inch thick. You are going to cut roughly 24 squares of an even size from this dough.
With your air fryer preheated to 390 degrees, put as many of these squares into the fryer basket as you can comfortably fit. You want to cook them for three minutes on one side, and then two minutes on the next side. You can now sprinkle them with that powdered baking blend you made in the first step.
7. Dessert Fries Made from Sweet Potatoes
In terms of healthy carbohydrates, sweet potatoes are definitely at the top of the list. They contain a ton of different vitamins and minerals. If you want to make this dessert even healthier, keep the skin on them. Sweet potato skin contains plenty of fiber and potassium.
Here, you already get the natural sweetness from the sweet potatoes, along with some other ingredients that you’re going to mix along with them.
If you don’t want to use regular sugar, you can always use a natural sweetener as well. Of course, you aren’t going to be dipping these dessert fries in ketchup or mayonnaise. Most people would actually recommend using something like Greek vanilla yogurt for this purpose.
To make this recipe, all you need are a couple of sweet potatoes, some coconut oil, cornstarch, 2 tablespoons of butter, 1/4 cup of coconut sugar, 2 tablespoons of cinnamon, some powdered sugar, and some Greek vanilla yogurt.
Wash and dry your sweet potatoes, and then cut them into small strips that resemble French fries. You’re now going to dip them all in coconut oil, and then coat them with cornstarch.
Put your sweet potato fries into the air fryer basket, and then fry them for about 18 to 20 minutes at 370 degrees Fahrenheit. Once they are done, you can then drizzle them with some butter, cinnamon, and sugar. Once again, dipping them in some Greek vanilla yogurt always tastes nice.
