Five International Christmas Desserts
I don’t know if it’s possible to get tired of apple pie, but just in case your traditional Christmas desserts are starting to get boring, here are 5 international recipes you could make to spice up your meal! (Granted, I don’t suggest eating them all in one day, or your belly may resemble a “bowl full of jelly”.)
Mexico: Bunuelos – I bet these would be delicious. If anyone is brave enough to try a dessert you have to fry in hot oil, please let me know how they turn out!
England: Christmas Pudding – I was SO surprised the first time I visited the UK and realized that pudding was actually more like bread/cake. I’ve fallen pretty much in love with Sticky Toffee Pudding, but I haven’t tried Christmas Pudding before.
France: Buche de Noel – My understanding is that this means Christmas Log. I’m pretty sure that if I made this myself it would probably not look like a log. It would probably look like something else…. so maybe I’ll stick with something less artistic!
Sweden: St. Lucia Day Saffron Buns – Actually St. Lucia Day is December 13th, but that’s pretty close to Christmas).
