PEG Holiday Gift Guides 2015: Active Toy Edition
This week we’re sharing some of our best ideas for holiday gifts for kids of all ages! Be sure to check out all of our holiday gift guides!
Today we’re focusing on the kids who love to move it, move it. These toys are great for outdoor fun and can also easily be used in the basement on cold, winter days.
1. Gymnic Hop on Air ($24.97)
For kids 5+ (up to 150lbs), this ball is a great way to jump, jump, jump. Safe for inside as well as outdoor grassy areas, it’s sure to be a well-loved toy that will last.
2. Two Bros Bows ($20)
These well-made and kid-thought-up bows are sturdy and as close to the real deal without the pointy arrows as you can get. The arrows are soft and ball-like on the end, making it a toy that doesn’t require adult supervision. As a former archer, I’m really impressed with this toy, especially with a price tag of only $20. They offer a ton of different colors and patterns for both girls and boys ( You can also get matching quiver bags to hold your arrows!) And get this- you can use them indoors OR outdoors– love it!! When you order these bows, the 2 boys who created them send you a hand-written note too. I love supporting companies created by entrepreneurial kids!
3. Gymnic Rody Horse ($49.97)
For the younger crowd (3-5 years old), these horses are the perfect way to sit and bounce all over the place. Once upon a time I wondered what the big deal was about these things, but every time my kids are around one of these, it’s a pain to pry them off- they love it! They come in all colors, which is great!
4. Pogo Stick ($29.97) or Kidoozie Foam Pogo Jumper ($14.95)
Pogo Sticks for big kids and small ones are a great way to jump off energy, practice balance, and just have a whole lot of fun!
5. Adjustable Roller Blades ($32.00)
These rollerblades are great (my son got them for his birthday), perfect for a cement basement! Size small is for kids with shoe size 12-1 and size medium is for kids size 2-4. My son wears a size 1, and the size small fits him well with a bit of room to spare.
6. Diggin Slimeball Dodgetag ($24.99)
What’s more fun for kids (and adults) than throwing slimeballs at a moving target? 🙂 I envision my hubby and his brothers using this one after the kids have gone to bed… 🙂
7. Little Tikes 3′ Trampoline ($49.01)
Jump, jump, jump that energy off! 🙂 This particular trampoline is for kids under 55 lbs.
8. Thinkfun Roll and Play Board Game ($18.38)
For the youngest in the crowd, Roll and Play is a perfect way to introduce kids 18 months + to the idea of game playing, while being active and having fun. Our kids loved playing this when they were little!
9. Snow Scooter ($47.49)
During the winter you can take this guy on the snow, and in the summer it works on grass!
10. Wii Nickelodeon Fit ($32.49)
For the kids who love electronics, this is a great way to combine something they love with getting exercise. We have played with for several years, with both boys and girls, and it’s a hit. Our kids are working up a sweat by the end, and their muscles end up being pretty tired!
What toys keep your kids active, especially in the winter?
