Fall Trees and Faith
This fall, how can you connect what’s going on in the world around you with your faith? One of the things I’ve always enjoyed doing with my children is making sure that talking about God and the Bible are an every day kind of thing, not just something that happens during “Bible lesson time”. There are a couple ways that would be so simple to talk about while you and your child complete a fun fall craft, like the puzzle piece fall tree described here, or even while you are walking to the bus stop or driving in the car!
Remind your child the the changing seasons are part of God’s plan! Ecclesiastes 3:1 “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven.”
The trees may be changing colors, but I can think of a couple of things that do not change! Hebrews 13:8 says “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” A great verse to remember during a period of change. And 1 Peter 1:24-25 says “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever.”
So whether you are picking apples, making leaf rubbings, and doing some other fun fall activity, make sure to use the opportunity to speak truth to your child!
