40 Ways to Pray for Your Child (Body, Mind, and Spirit)
I’ve written before about how much I struggle with fear when it comes to raising my kids. There are so many circumstances over which I have no control! Instead of freaking out over what may or may not happen, I need to remember to lift my kids up to their heavenly Father, asking him for everything they need. I also need to remember not just to pray about things I don’t want to happen in their lives, but also for the people I hope they become. I’ve made myself a little list of different areas where my kids need prayer. Maybe it will help me (or you!) to be more intentional in the way we pray for them.
For those of you who are wondering, I do not view God as some kind of cosmic prayer-answering bellhop. I know that sometimes when we pray God’s answer is “no” or “wait”, and I know that just as I have to go through difficult things in my life, the same will be true in the lives of my children. But I also know that the Bible tells me I am supposed to make all my requests known to God instead of being anxious (Philippians 4:6), so I will continue to lift my children up in prayer as I trust their lives to the one who loves them even more than I do.
