Photo Scavenger Hunt Date Night
One of my husband’s and my goals for this year is to be more intentional about our dates. We have purposed to have at least one a month, and so far, we have kept our commitment. Yay us! And in our effort to be more intentional, we have gotten more creative. In fact, we haven’t had a normal dinner and/or movie date yet. It’s been fun to try different things.
And here’s a great different idea for you: Photo Scavenger Hunt Date Night!
When I was in youth group, I loved photo and video scavenger hunts. It was a cheap thing that provided so much laughter and memories, I knew I wanted to try to do it now that I’m an adult. And who better to do it with than the love of my life?
So I created a list of photos to take with you spouse. These can be selfies with your phone or you can ask someone else to snap the picture for you. Your choice.
The idea is that you take this list and go snap pictures with your loved one. You can do this by yourself for a fun memory date, maybe make it into a photo book to look over again and again for some good laughs.
And if you want to take it to the next level, you can make it a couples night out with friends. In fact, that’s my plan for our June date. So local friends, do me a favor and don’t read the list of photos. You might be getting an invitation soon! 🙂 My idea to to have several of my couple friends agree to get together some Saturday night. Then at the prescribed time, say 7:00 pm, the envelopes with the list of photo ideas will be opened and the picture taking will begin. Then after a set amount of time, say 2 hours, all the couples meet back at my house for desserts and goodies while we all view the silliness of the pictures and tally everyone’s score.
I assigned values to each photo based on the degree of difficulty. So if it’s relatively easy to get, only 10 points. If it’s hard or super embarrassing, then 50 points. So the more brave you are, the easier it is to wrack up points. And the better the pictures are to share with a group. 🙂
I am really looking forward to this date. I hope you all enjoy it too. Let me know if you give it a whirl!
