Pudding Spider Snack
This is a super simple spider snack. How’s that for alliteration? But really, this snack is quite simple and easy and great for either handing out at Halloween or class snacks, which is what we made them for. We made a whole army. But I’m just going to show you the one, and how easy it really is.
Pudding or Jello Spider Snack
Materials to make 1
1 pudding/jello cup
2 pipe cleaners
tape (I used packing tape)
2 googly eyes
glue (I used Elmer’s school glue)
First, you start with a pudding or jello snack cup. I did a variety in my army so that those with allergies (to say nuts or dairy) would have an option, too.
Then you cut each of the pipe cleaners in half and lay them across the top of the snack cup.
Tape down, making sure not to overlap the edges so that the lid is still peel-able.
While the tape is still facing up, use a downward motion to bend each leg into a curled shape.
Then flip over.
Add two dots of glue and two googly eyes, and you can call it done.
But if you want to add a little cuteness, you can add a little smirk. Or if you want scary spiders, you can try to draw some fangs or something. When I was making this with Sebastian (who is very into spiders right now), he informed me that spiders usually have eight eyes. So if you want to go with authenticity, you can add six more eyes. Up to you!
And if you really want to up the ante, you can curl one of the legs around a spoon, so that each spider is ready to be devoured.
And that’s it!
