DIY Sidewalk Paint
After months of being cooped up inside, we try to spend time outside every day that the weather allows. But sometimes, things can get a little monotonous, even while outside, so every now and then, I like to shake things up with a different variation of a beloved classic.
Today, we did sidewalk chalk paint.
This stuff is super easy to put together. Just equal parts cornstarch and water, plus some food coloring.
I like to use a muffin tin as a makeshift palette, and that usually works out pretty well. Perhaps two muffin tins would be better for two boys. But a little sharing practice is a good thing.
The paint is pretty liquidy and seems like it won’t make much of a mark, but as it dries, the colors become more vibrant and visible. But if you want to skip to the vibrancy faster, all you have to do is add more cornstarch. Just make sure you can still paint with it and that it’s not a sludge.
And that’s it. Super easy, but super fun.
