{Review} Les Cousins du Moulin Pop-up Toy
As a mother of two active boys, I am always on the search for toys that will last and be fun. So, naturally, wooden toys top my list. So, when we were approached with the chance to review a wooden toy from Les Cousins, I jumped at the chance. The toy I chose was a wooden pop-up toy.
When I read the description of this toy, I was very curious as to how it would work. How would it pop? Well, I found out. Essentially, you put the wooden peg animals in the slots. Then you press down and let go with kinda a flick to make the animals fly. Not exactly sure what I’m talking about? Here’s a video of my oldest demonstrating the technique.
While this toy says it is geared at kids one and up, my three year old had fun with it, too. In fact, he was better able to manipulate the “popping” action, which was great because my younger really enjoyed watching the animals pop out of of their holes. So together, they have really enjoyed this little toy.
The toy itself is compact, which I appreciate, and with only have four pieces total (three animals and the holder), it hasn’t been difficult to keep all the pieces together (which if I couldn’t would drive this momma nuts!). I really like that it’s a toy that’s a little out of the ordinary, so not something that most people are likely to have, so this could make a really great gift, especially to kids with older siblings that likely have oodles of the standard fare of toys.
All in all, I recommend this toy, and if the rest of the line is made as well as this one, I’d definitely be interested in checking out the rest! If you are interested in purchasing something from the Les Cousins de Moulin toy line from their U.S. supplier Magicforest, you can see this online retailer: My Sweet Muffin.
