Spider-man Lollipop Valentines
So my three-year old has just discovered superheroes. I’m not exactly sure where, since we don’t watch that at home, but it has been fun. Especially since this foray into superhero has coincided with his imaginary friend stage. So we get dressed with Batman. We make sure not to sit on Spider-man. We remember to buckle Iron Man in the car.
And so when I started to think of valentines for this year, I knew I had to go superhero. If you’ve remembered what I’ve done in the previous years for valentines (socks and seed starters), you’ll know I never go the easy way out. But I found this really cute idea on Pinterest–for superhero lollipops. I was smitten. But…I wanted to be a little more true to the integrity of the superheroes, and go as authentic looking as I could pull off in an evening.
And thus, Spider-man Lollipop Valentines were born!
I went with Spider-man because, well, he’s my favorite. I’ve got a thing for nerds whose alter ego is a highly muscled, masked man in spandex with spider senses. I don’t like spiders, but I don’t mind my men acting like one…apparently. 🙂 So, I did my favorite. Sebastian was a little less than impressed since his favorite is someone called simply “Superhero.” (I don’t know who he’s trying to reference…Superman?) But since I don’t know who Superhero is, I went with Spider-man.
So to make these pops, you’ll have to print of the file that you can get here. Then cut out all the pieces. Then you just wrap the circle around the pop, centering the web starting point (which is off center) on the “face” of your pop. You’ll have a little excess on the opposite side, but you can trim that easily once you have the pop wrapped. I taped the red wrap in place.
Then I glued the eyes on and taped the little flag marker on the stick. And voila! Spider-man on a stick. Happy Valentine’s Day to me!
