I can’t believe another year has passed already. I’m not sure how the minutes between 4:30 and 6:30pm can pass sooooooo slowly, and yet the years go by so quickly. Oh my, now I sound old. Well, be that as it may, I thought you might want to break out some New Years Eve or New Years Day activities to help ring in 2014. My own kids are too young to stay up until midnight (don’t tell them I said that), but I like the idea of doing a count down to 8 o’clock and then making a bunch of noise. (To be honest, sometimes I don’t even stay up until midnight since every time I send my kids the “Mommy stayed up too late so please please please sleep in” memo, they just don’t seem to get it),
And speaking of staying up until midnight, you could make your very own ball and drop it whenever you want to (7:30pm anyone?)
You could make some noise with these cute shakers:
I also think this clock is cute, and you could use it for counting down to the new year (or bedtime, which for parents can be pretty exciting), and then keep it around to teach about telling time.
I hope 2013 has been full of fun and growth for you and your family! Happy New Year from all of us at Play Eat Grow!
