We’ve posted about some really great advent calendar ideas here at Play Eat Grow, so here’s a reminder of some of the neat things we’ve already done with our families, and some suggestions for others that look fun!
MaryAnn’s Advent Calendar
I posted here about our advent calendar
, which involves opening an envelope each day to reveal a Christmas ornament, each of which tells a part of the Christmas story.
Christina’s Advent Calendar
Tiffany’s (almost) Advent Calendar
Tiffany hasn’t exactly made an advent calendar, but she has used an advent curriculum called Truth in the Tinsel to help her kids get ready for Christmas. A few years back they made Christmas tree ornaments
for each part of the Christmas story, and this year she has a Christmas book and ornament
to color for each day in December.
I really like this advent calendar made out of mint tins. We always have a tin of Altoids in my car, so I might start saving them and do this project next Christmas. As a child, we always enjoyed the calendars with the little chocolates inside of them, but since my son has a nut allergy I can’t buy any of the inexpensive calendars with chocolates. I think it would be a great place to hide a little treat!
Here’s a cute advent calendar made out of a mini muffin tin! Looks like a great place to hide a sweet treat or special note.
We’re not real into Santa at my house, but I thought this free Santa printable where you add to his beard each day in December was actually pretty cute.
Do you have a favorite advent calendar? Happy counting down this December!
