Eat: Applesauce Jello
Applesauce Jello could not be easier to make. I feel slightly embarrassed highlighting this recipe, because I almost wonder if it can really be considered a “recipe” at all. But here’s why I choose to share this deliciousness with you:
- Because I had never heard of such a thing up until a couple months ago. Our children’s minister, Joy, brought it with a meal she made for us after I had Anaya. The kids were like, “Mom, what is this?” and I’m like, “Joy, what IS this?!”
- It’s a great, cool, easy to make recipe that can easily be used as a cool “treat” on a hot, summery day. You could even add a dollop of whipped topping to make it extra special! 😉
- We are moving in THREE weeks and half of my kitchen is packed up in boxes, and we’re beginning to play that fun game where you see if you can make meals out of what is already in your cabinets, refrigerator and freezer (We’re two days in and so far, so good). We had some jell-o. We had some applesauce. It was destiny!
Ingredients:
1 box of whatever jello you like (we used strawberry)
1 cup of boiling water
1 1/3 cup of applesauce
Process:
So first you boil the water.
Then you add the jello packet, stirring until it’s all dissolved. Transfer to a mixing bowl.
Then, you stir in the cold applesauce.
And put in a container to cool in the fridge overnight.
I've honestly never heard of this but it sounds great! Healthier than whipped cream jello salad.
Exactly! 🙂
